Having started his career as a business journalist for Forbes magazine, John shifted gears to the business side of magazines, eventually serving for seven years as the President and CEO of Gruner + Jahr USA Publishing, which during his tenure grew its annual revenue four-fold, to $425 million, while operating profits more than quintupled. He co-founded Value Investor Media, Inc. in 2004 and in 2016 doubled down on value investing in joining the University of Alabama to create its value-investing program.
