The organisers of the 2019 London Value Investor Conference are pleased that the Conference raised a total of £25,730.84 for Childhood First.
We are very grateful to The Peter Cundill Foundation for match-funding the conference charitable contribution this year, meaning that a total of £51,461.68 was given to the charity.
We provide specialist care, education and treatment to children aged 5-18 who have suffered severe emotional and behavioural disturbance as the result of early life trauma. All of our homes have been awarded ‘Outstanding by OFSTED.
We transform life chances for these children and young people by offering them a rehabilitative and nurturing environment so that they can relate well to others, fulfil their potential and begin to enjoy life.
At the heart of our therapeutic approach is the conviction that: “The damage caused by relationships can most effectively be healed by relationships”
Children who come to us have more often than not been through several care placements that have broken down. Without our intervention these children would simply be unable to thrive or be able to achieve anything resembling a normal life.
In March we launched a campaign to raise substantial funds to create an additional home in East Anglia to support children aged 10-18.
