Sarah H. Ketterer is the CEO and a portfolio manager of Causeway Capital Management LLC. She co-founded the firm in 2001 and is a member of the firm’s operating committee. Prior to Causeway, she worked for the Hotchkis & Wiley division of Merrill Lynch. 

 

Ms. Ketterer serves on the Stanford University Board of Trustees and the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center President’s Advisory Board, is a co-founder of the Economic Club of Dallas, and is a supporter of Girls Who Invest. She previously chaired the Los Angeles World Affairs Council and Town Hall and the investment committee of the Music Center Foundation. Ms. Ketterer earned a BA in economics and political science from Stanford University and an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.

N. David Samra is a managing director of Artisan Partners and founding partner of the Artisan Partners International Value Team. He is lead portfolio manager of the Artisan International Value Fund, which he has managed since the portfolio’s inception in September 2002. 

Mr. Samra also was co-portfolio manager for the Global Value Fund from its inception in December 2007 through September 2018. Under Mr. Samra’s leadership, the team was nominated six times (in 2008, consecutively from 2011-2014 and again in 2016) for

Morningstar, Inc.’s International-Stock Fund Manager of the Year award in the US and won the award in 2008 and 2013. The team was also named EAFE Equity Investment Manager of the Year in 2015 and 2016 by Institutional Investor.

Investor’s Business Daily recognized the Artisan International Value Fund in 2021 and 2022 as one of the best international stock mutual funds for outperforming the MSCI EAFE index over the last one-, three-, five- and ten-year periods. In 2023, the team received three Lipper Fund Awards, recognizing it for consistently strong risk-adjusted performance over the three-, five- and ten-year time periods relative to Lipper’s International Large-Cap Value Funds category. Prior to joining Artisan Partners in May 2002, Mr. Samra was a portfolio manager and a senior analyst in international equities at Harris Associates LP from August 1997 through May 2002. Earlier in his career, he was a portfolio manager with Montgomery Asset Management, Global Equities Division. Mr. Samra holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Bentley College and a master’s degree in business administration from Columbia Business School.

Gary Channon co-founded Phoenix Asset Management Partners in 1998 and has managed the Phoenix UK Fund since its launch in May the same year. 

Since inception, the Fund has returned gross performance of 727% (versus the benchmark’s total return of 142%), an annualised return of 12% (versus the benchmark annualising at 4.9%). 

The investment philosophy at Phoenix is strongly inspired by Warren Buffett and Phil Fisher: long-term, value-based and focused. In terms of investment research, Phoenix considers its own primary fieldwork to be a major contributor to the effectiveness of the research effort. Typically, this includes assessing product quality via mystery shopping and undertaking competitor analysis in order to understand the purchasing decision of the marginal customer. Prior to Phoenix, Gary was co-Head of Equity and Equity Derivatives Trading at Nomura International, and before that he was at Goldman Sachs within Global Equity Derivative Products Training.

Simon is the Head of the Global Value Team and Fund Manager on the Global and International value strategies. He has been a Fund Manager since 2014 focused on European and Global value portfolios before joining the Global Value Team in 2016. 

He joined Schroders in 2008 as an analyst covering Chemicals, Media, Transport and Utilities in the UK and then across Pan-Europe. He is a CFA Charterholder and holds an MA in Politics from the University of Edinburgh.

She holds a Commerce degree from the University of Melbourne, Australia and holds a Master of Commerce degree from the University of New South Wales, Australia. He joined Bernstein as an oil industry analyst and was named to the Institutional Investor All America Research Team for three years running. Mr. Pzena also served as Chief Investment Officer, Small Cap Equities. Prior to joining Bernstein, Mr. Pzena worked for the Amoco Corporation in various financial and planning roles. Ben Watsa is the Founder, CEO and CIO of Marval Capital Ltd., a Toronto-based, India-focused investment firm founded in 2017. Marval manages over $400 million in AUM, and its flagship strategy, the Marval Guru Fund (launched in 2019), is among the largest actively managed Indian small- and mid-cap equity funds run from outside India and has been one of Canada’s best-performing funds since inception.

 

Mr. Watsa has twenty-five years of investment experience. He began his career in 2001 as an investment banker in the Financial Institutions Group at Banc of America Securities and later at Cochran Caronia Waller. He then joined Lissom Investment Management Inc. (“Lissom”), where he spent 11 years and ultimately became a Partner and Portfolio Manager. At Lissom, he managed the firm’s small- and mid-cap global equity fund for six years, and subsequently managed a successor mandate as a sub-advisor at Marval for an additional six years.

In addition to Marval, Mr. Watsa serves as Chair of Fairfax India Holdings Corporation and as a director of Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited. He also serves on the advisory board of Impression Ventures and has been honoured with the position of Director Emeritus for his work as a director and Vice Chair of the Investment Committee of the Rideau Hall Foundation.

Richard Oldfield founded Oldfield Partners LLP in 2005, after 9 years as chief executive of a family investment office. Before this, he was director of Mercury Asset Management plc, which he joined in 1977.

He was Chairman of the Oxford University investment committee and the first chairman of Oxford University Endowment Management Ltd from 2007-2014.

He is now chairman of Shepherd Neame Ltd, and trustee of a number of charities. The second edition of his book “Simple But Not Easy”, a “slightly autobiographical and heavily biased” book about investing, was published by Harriman House in December 2021.

Having started his career as a business journalist for Forbes magazine, John shifted gears to the business side of magazines, eventually serving for seven years as the President and CEO of Gruner + Jahr USA Publishing, which during his tenure grew its annual revenue four-fold, to $425 million, while operating profits more than quintupled. He co-founded Value Investor Media, Inc. in 2004 and in 2016 doubled down on value investing in joining the University of Alabama to create its value-investing program. John graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School and received an M.B.A. from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business.
