ABOUT THE LONDON VALUE INVESTOR CONFERENCE
The London Value Investor Conference is a practitioners’ conference for Value Investors. Value Investing is a strategy developed by Benjamin Graham in the early Twentieth Century. Over the years, it has been widely adopted by investors who have achieved considerable success by following the approach, most notably Warren Buffett. Numerous academic studies have proven that a disciplined value-based approach to investing in securities outperforms the market over the long term. The strategy is rooted in research into behavioural investing, which explains why it can be challenging to implement psychologically (because it involves taking positions that are contrary to the received wisdom of the crowd) but can be highly rewarding financially when done correctly.
The first London Value Investor Conference took place in April 2012, bringing together well-known US investors such as Will Browne of Tweedy Browne, with European counterparts managing both large and small funds. Since then, the LVIC has grown into the largest gathering of Value Investors in Europe. The conference has attracted notable investors such as Peter Davies, Sir Chris Hohn, Michael Price, Howard Marks, Jean-Marie Eveillard, Anthony Bolton, Nick Train, Sir David Harding, Jonathan Ruffer, and many others.
